Distribute Pack Back Tasks
When items are ready to be returned to the customer, either in full or partially, you can streamline the process by distributing a pack back task to your mobile users. This task allows them to efficiently mark items as returned while on-site.
How to Distribute a Pack Back Task
- Navigate to the Jobs tab and open the job requiring a pack back task.
- Select the Distribute Task tab.
- Under Pack Back Tasks, click Distribute To.
- Choose the data to include in the pack back task:
- Customer Requested Items: Displays only items requested by the customer—ideal for partial returns.
- Exclude Status: Exclude items with specific statuses that aren’t being returned.
- Exclude Attachments: Omit file attachments from the task.
- Include One Image Per Item: Limit items to a single image each.
- Select the users or devices to receive the pack back task.
- Click Send Pack Back to distribute the task.
At this point, the mobile user can refresh their ContentsTrack app to see the assigned task.
How to Return Items via ContentsTrack Online
You can also manage item returns directly online, either individually or in bulk:
Returning Items Individually
- Open the job and navigate to the Inventory tab.
- Select the item you want to return.
- Update the location to Customer Site.
- Click Save.
Bulk Editing Items
- Open the job and navigate to the Inventory tab.
- Select all items to be returned.
- Click Bulk Edit.
- Change the location to Customer Site.
- Click OK to confirm.
This ensures items are properly marked as returned in the system, streamlining the process for both customers and your team.
Closing Jobs:
Once you've completed a full pack back for the customer and are done with the job you can close it so it no longer shows in your active list of jobs.
- Under Main, click on Jobs.
- Check next to the jobs you want to either close or delete.
- Click Close Selected.
- To confirm, click OK.
