With ContentsTrack, effortlessly track item movements and stay updated with a simple click. From trucks and carts to rooms and shelves, containers cover a range of storage spaces. Seamlessly transfer items between containers and categorize them to suit your needs, ensuring optimal customization in inventory management. Explore two main categories: "Locations" for static areas and "Mobile Containers" for items that can be relocated within or transported to different sites. Remember, in our system, a 'container' can refer to both a physical location and a movable storage unit.

Updating an Items Location

In ContentsTrack, the system organizes locations/containers into two primary categories: "Locations" and "Mobile Containers". "Locations" designate fixed areas, whereas "Mobile Containers" can be moved within a location or transported to another site. Location options encompass site, structure, vendor, truck, room, area, shelf, and station.

Updating an Items Location or Box ID:

Updating an item's location or box ID is made easy through several methods. Locations/Containers can be added or updated by following this article - Setting up and Managing Containers.

Update Location through Tracking tab:
  1. Under Main, click on Tracking.
  2. Enter the container where you want the item moved in the New Container field.
  3. Input the item or box ID you wish to move in the Item/Box/Container ID to Move field.
    1. To scan the item/box ID, tap on the QR code icon while adding or editing the item. If using a web browser, ensure your webcam is connected and allowed access.
    2. Selecting a box ID will move all items within that box to the new container.
  4. Click Update. Once completed, the updated item will appear in the history below.
Update Box ID through Tracking tab:
  1. Under Main, click on Tracking.
  2. Input the new box ID where you want the item relocated in the Box ID field.
  3. Enter the item ID you wish to update in the Item ID field.
  4. Click Update. Once completed, the updated item will appear in the history below.
Update Station through the Stations tab:

Stations are locations/containers you can setup typically used to identify a station the item is going through like cleaning station.

  1. Under Main, click on Stations.
  2. Type in the station you want to move the item/box to.
  3. Input the item or box ID you wish to relocate in the Item/Box ID field:
    1. To scan the item/box ID, tap on the QR code icon while adding or editing the item. If using a web browser, ensure your webcam is connected and allowed access.
    2. Selecting a box ID will move all items within that box to the new container.
  4. Click Retrieve Details.
Update Location or Box ID through a Job:
  1. Under Main, click on Jobs.
  2. Open the job that contains the items you are wanting to adjust.
  3. Select the hyperlinked description of the item you wish to modify.
  4. Make the necessary adjustments to the location or box ID.
  5. Save your changes by clicking Save.
Bulk Updating Location or Box IDs though a Job:
  1. Under Main, click on Jobs.
  2. Open the job that contains the items you are wanting to adjust.
  3. Check the boxes next to the items you wish to relocate.
  4. Click on Bulk Edit.
  5. Adjust the location and/or box ID, then click OK.
