Stations Overview

Stations are designated locations used to track items undergoing specific processes, such as inspection or cleaning. Stations are considered a type of container and can be set up under the Containers section.

Setting Up Stations

For instructions on setting up stations, refer to Adding in Locations / Containers.

Updating Item Locations to a Station

Stations are ideal for tracking items at specific processing points, such as a cleaning or inspection station. The Stations tab is primarily used by individuals actively working at a station to log items as they are placed into it.

Steps to Update Item/Box Location to a Station:

  1. Navigate to the Main tab and click on Stations.
  2. Enter the station name where you want to move the item or box.
  3. Input the item or box ID in the Item/Box ID field.
    • To scan the item/box ID, click the QR code icon. If using a web browser, ensure your webcam is connected and permitted for access.
    • Note: Only barcodes can currently be scanned using this feature.
  4. If a box ID is selected, all items within the box will be moved to the new station.
  5. Click Retrieve Details to confirm and process the relocation.

You can also update an item's station via the Tracking tab or directly within the item's details. For detailed instructions, refer to Updating an Items Location.

Cloning Items

Cloning creates a new item with the same attributes as the original, including its details, history, and attachments. The cloned item will require a unique Item/Box ID.

Steps to Clone Items:

  1. Go to the Main tab and select Stations.
  2. Choose the station for the new item and enter the item/box ID.
  3. Optionally, use the QR/barcode scanner by clicking the corresponding icon.
    • Note: Ensure your webcam is enabled and allowed access in browser settings.

Cloning items can only be done in ContentsTrack Online through the stations tab.
